My passion lies deeply in the desire to help one another advance in our understanding of proper body care. Preventative maintenance is at the forefront of our resources and while medication and surgery may be a last resort, there should be little reason, if properly educated, that we need to reach that far. Just as a carpenter sets out on a job with a toolbox to build with, when we begin the job of reclaiming our health, we should also have a toolbox of wellness to pull from. Unfortunately, that isn’t the case for many of us. Try to think back to your own education and remember what you where taught that could fill that toolbox. Not much you say? Isn’t that a bit concerning? We are prepared to know academics and pass all the tests, however; our bodies and emotions seem to get the least bit of focus, if any. That is why I feel so driven to help others build their own toolbox of wellness while I continue to fill mine.
It’s not a secret anymore that our current state of affairs regarding all aspects of life are in crisis. There has been no other time in history that our health and vitality has been so utterly compromised and yet we stand at the forefront of new research, greater resources and inspiring efforts by many individuals to reverse the damage that chronic stress has plagued us with. Join me as we work together to reduce both physical and emotion stress, free ourselves of persistent pain and liberate ourselves to follow our own paths and create our own futures.
As a student in Northwestern Health Sciences University’s massage program, I had the opportunity to study anatomy in one of the most comprehensive programs in the United States. It was there that I discovered how truly amazing the human body is and what a well functioning machine it is. If you run it on empty, it’s parts will burn out. If you supply it with the wrong fuel, you’ll end up clogging up the system. If you avoid doing both and keep up with regularly scheduled maintenance, it should last you all the miles of your journey. While at NWHSU I also studied advanced nutrition with a naturopath that really spearheaded my efforts to go into the world and figure out how I can make the best use of my body while supplying it with proper nutrition and exercise. From there, I wanted to share this knowledge with everyone I knew. There is so much that we can do to create health, we just need to get inspired and stay motivated.
When I am not working closely with my clients, you can find me keeping busy with a handful of hobbies. My interests and enjoyments are parenting, carpentry and green design, barefoot running, mountain biking, cooking, gardening, sustainable farming, camping, travel and photography.
